PERSIAN Ear Cohort

The PERSIAN Ear Cohort launched in Hoveyzeh, as part of the PERSIAN Main (Adult) Cohort, to investigate common hearing disorders in the adult population. Soon after its initiation, the PERSIAN Guilan Cohort Study followed Hoveyzeh’s lead and is also performing auditory assessments.

General Objectives of the Cohort are as followed:

  1. To estimate the prevalence and incidence of type of hearing loss and identify the risk and protective factors in the study population
  2. Assessing the possible roles of physiological, genetic, and epigenetic markers in prognosis and diagnosis of hearing loss
  3. To determined relationship between the NCDs and hearing impairment
