Sareh Eghtesad PhD RD

Current Position: Researcher at the Digestive Diseases Research Institute (DDRI), Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran

Sareh Eghtesad is a registered dietitian/nutritionist, obtaining her Master’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, USA in 2010. She completed her internship at the University Hospitals of Cleveland, Case Medical Center (Cleveland, USA) in 2011, and subsequently moved to Iran to work at DDRI. 

Dr. Eghtesad has been with the PERSIAN Cohort since the beginning of the study, working along the nutrition team to design the Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) used in the cohort, its protocol and validation study. She is also a member of the educational team, training interviewers on FFQ completion. In 2016, she also became the PERSIAN Cohort Coordinator.

Besides the PERSIAN Cohort, Dr. Eghtesad works on the development of patient education materials for individuals with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, liver cirrhosis and metabolic syndrome. She is currently a PhD candidate in the field of Nutritional Epidemiology at Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
